‘The moody monk’

High time to show you one of the pieces I have been working on recently: ‘The Moody Monk’. This painting is based on an experience during a trekking through the Himalaya in Nepal. It was 1992 and I had decided that I wanted to do something extreme to keep life interesting 🙂 I chose a walking trip to… Read More »

The lions moved to Waterloo…

Today I exchanged my paintings on display in The Artstore (a.k.a. ‘The People’s Gallery’) with a new batch. His Majesty Humba, my Lion’s portrait, and the rest of his tribe can be visited there for the rest of the month. The Gallery is open during store hours, which means doors are closed on Sunday and Monday.

The big reveal… portrait of my mom!

What started early July 2022, is now done: the Drawing America summer course with Jennifer Gennari has been completed. First dive… the baby seal under the ice

I wish I could claim that this was based on one of my own photographs… but it is not. I took a series of phone pictures during a television documentary about the North Pole a while ago, as inspiration for a future painting. The other day, when I was playing around with paint pouring, the first few results… Read More »

Plein-air painting with friends

A good ten years ago I had the good fortune to spend 3 years in Bermuda, when my husband was temporarily employed on that beautiful archipel of islands in the Atlantic Ocean. During my stay, I became a part of a small art group and had a lot of fun playing around with (mainly) watercolours. Now fast forward… Read More »

It is pouring art..

It was pouring art in my yard this Canada weekend – literally! Pouring paint has become really popular recently. The results are often abstract, which is fairly new for me. So I need your help to find out what it is that YOU see in these two new artworks… so that I can come up with proper titles…… Read More »
